Fertilization Day 1

16 eggs retrieved, 14 of which were mature. Of those 14, 9 were fertilized normally; 3 were abnormal and 2 did not fertilize. I like the number 9. It gives us a good number to work with as some may not develop further. We will get a call tomorrow informing us how the 9 fertilized egg cells are dividing. Jeremy is praying for the number 6, I'm hoping for the number 8. :) We will transfer 2 embryos, hopefully on fertilization day 3 (it could be day 5 depending on how the embryos look), leaving us with some for cryopreservation.

Thankfully, one of the many pills I am taking, helps me sleep (a possible side effect is insomnia, but it seems to affect me the opposite), so I'm not awake all night what's going on with our embryos.

We are getting really excited, and nervous of course!
